The History of the Guns

These very unique pieces of Naval History are actual metal of the 16" inch ordinance guns that were used and removed from Iowa class Battleships for reconditioning and placed into ready storage at the Long Beach Naval Base. Then the Navy decided to retire the Iowa class Battleships and the guns were made available for surplus bidding. Fortunately, six of these guns were recognized for their historic importance and shipped to New Castle, PA for smelting into meomorabilia replicas now available with these Limited Edition plaques.
